The Kestrel - Bio Composite (hemp) paneled car

This is possibly the last look at where our little Kestrel car ended up. It was a good run and some various groups were able to do some good research on the hemp material panels.

Infinite Shoes "Solo"

Inspiration taken from sandals and espadrille style shoes. We found a manufacturing process that allows you to print custom sole graphics under a clear sole rubber so the graphics won't wear away as the rubber sole gets worn.

Infinite Shoes "Serenity"

Inspiration taken from piano and music notes. This is the most formal of the designs.

Infinite Shoes "Sea Flat"

For the women's line of shoes we did 3 styles as well. Inspiration for these was taken from Sandals and the espadrille style of shoes. These ones are perfect for the beach and have nice woven canvas detail along the sole walls. Many canvas flats suffer from stretching, but the 3 layers of canvas here will help in keeping these from stretching too much.

Infinite Shoes "Fret"

Inspiration taken from Acoustic guitars. Note the bridge and neck. These are a combination of leather, suede on the 'neck and bridge' detail and possibly lined with denim for the inner wall. Maybe my favorite of the 6 designs. It's a shame we never got to at least prototype stage although, it wouldn't take much.

Infinite Shoes "Headset"

Hopefully for obvious reasons we named this one the Headset. When designing it I put this forward to the client as sort of a long shot, but I thought it was fun. He ended up loving it so we went forward with the design. It's maybe not for everyone, but it's maybe an obvious choice for a band member or DJ. The headset cord runs around the body of the shoe and I gave it an 'urban' detail by using a brick pattern around the sole border. Make sure to click the images for closer details.

Shoe Designs For Sale!

A few months back I undertook a new design challenge in the form of footwear. Something I'd never really explored before.

I was hired by a group called Innua (the shoe company later became known as Infinite Shoes). It started with 3 designs and grew to 6. As you'll see most of the designs were inspired by music.

We were able to finalize all the designs and just before our entire design, marketing, business, manufacturing was all lined up we had to close up the business. It's a long story, but regardless it was a great experience and we have some cool shoes to kick off a business if anyone was interested. Kickstarter would be a good place to start. Anyways, hope you enjoy! I'll post the rest above and contact me if you'd be interested in starting a shoe company ;-)

This is the Caliber

I found inspiration from sandals with these shoes. You can see the layer of fabric that wraps over the foot and includes the tongue. It's got a larger side sole wall then you might typically find for a similar shoe for a unique touch. Click the images for closer details.
